Design and implementation of the Zuluna Shop online store

We have created a modern online store, Zuluna Shop – a custom design based on WordPress and WooCommerce, with a multilingual multisite system and advanced product configuration and mailing.

As part of this project, a custom-designed, advanced website based on a multisite system was created, which includes several dozen instances dedicated to companies in Germany based on WordPress and WooCommerce.

Each instance has been customized to enable flexible management of content, products, and configurations, while maintaining complete independence for each version of the website.

The solutions implemented included advanced functionalities that allow for easy management of a large number of products, as well as customization of the user experience depending on the specific requirements of each instance.

Key features of the website

Multisite with individual configurations Each instance of the multisite system had its own settings, allowing the content and appearance of the website to be tailored to the specific needs of users. This allowed each instance to have a separate store and product configuration, which significantly increased the flexibility of management and personalization of the website.

Mailing system with dedicated configuration The mailing system was designed in such a way that notifications could be sent depending on the instance in which the purchase was made. Each instance had its own notification system, which ensured personalized communication with customers.

Extensive translation system Thanks to an integrated translation system, each instance was able to display content in different languages. Translations were dynamically adjusted depending on the currently selected instance.

Product filtration system An extensive filtration system was created, allowing for precise product searches based on roof shape, system type, and product width and length.

Custom links, logos, and content

Links assigned to instances

It was possible to assign unique links to each instance, allowing full control over the URL structure within each version of the website.

Each instance had the option to display the appropriate logo, allowing for full visual customization depending on the instance.

Customization of shopping cart content

Depending on the selected instance, the content displayed in the shopping cart was dynamically changed, taking into account the data of the instance owner.

Custom page templates For user convenience and compliance with project requirements, a number of dedicated templates have been created:

Category page with an opening section, breadcrumbs, product list, and product filters.
Search page for quick product finding.
Sliding side panel with search engine that reloads results on the page using Ajax.

Advanced product and variant managementThe store has approximately 5,000 product variants, which include different color changes, impregnation, painting, color selection, and accessories. These variants are easy to edit and update. Any change in the product configuration, such as color selection or accessories, automatically updates the product price.

Global Administration Settings

The website had a full configuration of global elements in the WordPress admin panel, which greatly simplified website management. The most important global settings included:

Top bar settings
Manage the display of content at the top of the page.

Logo settings
Option to change the logo globally  on all instances.

Other  WordPress and WooCommerce settings
Full control over system configuration.

Summary

The project is a comprehensive implementation based on a multisite system, allowing for full personalization of every aspect of the website. Advanced features such as individual settings for each instance, the ability to manage products and their variants, as well as extensive translation, mailing, and product filtering systems provide strong support for both website administrators and end users.
Thanks to the use of a multisite system, it was possible to effectively manage multiple instances in one place, allowing for quick changes and development of the website.
